Studiotech Illuminates The Eurovision Song Contest

Eurovision Song Contest

The Eurovision Song Contest returns to the UK for the first time in 25 years, with England’s only UNESCO City of Music, Liverpool, chosen as the host city for the 67th edition of this world famous music competition.

Set on a World Heritage Waterfront, Liverpool’s 11,000 capacity M&S Arena will be the venue to host the contest.  Tasked with creating an impactful lighting design for the event, using light as a medium to communicate with the visitors, Arup’s design provides a subtle yet impressive addition to the existing architecture.

Studiotech collaborated with Arup to ensure a quick turnaround for the project.  It was essential that the project was kept within budget and met the client brief.

Choice of luminaire was pivotal in meeting the brief, Studiotech supplied and installed Traxon Archishape Linear Power RGBW to provide a powerful, evenly distributed, wash of dynamic light to the arena façade.

The completed installation not only showcases the arena but also celebrates the colourful history of The Eurovision Song Contest. The lighting design graces the building with light, creating a stunning visual experience for visitors and adding to the city’s vibrant cultural scene.
