Not one, not two, but three catenary lighting styles for Aberfeldy village!
Aberfeldy Village is a vibrant new neighbourhood in the heart of Poplar.
As part of its redevelopment, a dynamic public realm was created to enhance connectivity and promote active lifestyles.
Studiotech played a key role in this transformation, overseeing the detailed design, engineering, and installation of the catenary lighting system throughout the village.

Studiotech collaborated closely with the design and construction teams to ensure a cohesive approach to installing the catenary lighting system.
The project also involved installing the Aberfeldy signage, which not only serves as stylish wayfinding but also conceals the power supply units (PSUs) for the Festoon lights within removable panels in the posts.
From developing custom elements like bracketry and cable connections to installation, control, and programming, Studiotech managed the entire engineering and implementation process.
Solution
Studiotech supplied and installed the entire catenary system, which included three styles of luminaires—Festoon, Globe, and Flood fixtures—along with columns, bespoke bracketry, catenary cables, and cable connections.
Each bracket was custom designed for its specific location, taking into account the unique construction of the buildings. The process ranged from simple bracket installations to more complex solutions where space was limited, all of which required rigorous site surveying to ensure precise placement and secure fitting.
In some areas, the catenary cable spans over 25 meters which presented a significant challenge, requiring careful handling of stainless-steel cable to maintain tension and ensure structural integrity. This added complexity highlights the precision and expertise involved in delivering a cohesive and functional lighting solution for the area.
