From FEstive to forever!
Studiotech delivered a fully integrated turnkey catenary lighting solution for the pedestrianised Victoria Street South in Grimsby, replacing the previous temporary festive scheme with a permanent, year round installation.
Featuring individually controllable RGBW festoon globes, the scheme allows the space to adapt through subtle ambient scenes, seasonal content, and programmed light displays that encourage footfall, dwell time, and community engagement.

The original festoon installation was secured to the buildings via single fixing bolts, which structural analysis found to be inadequate for the loads generated by the new catenary system.
To address this, bespoke wall brackets were designed and manufactured to distribute the load safely across each fixing point.
Control
The system is controlled via a Traxon e:cue system, integrated with a 4G router to enable secure remote access. This allows us to manage, monitor, and update the lighting scheme without the need for on site attendance.
A built-in scheduling function enables lighting scenes and shows to be pre-programmed in line with key dates, events, and seasonal campaigns, ensuring the space remains dynamic, relevant, and easy to manage year round.

The new permanent festoon lighting installation enables North East Lincolnshire Council to deliver lighting displays throughout the year. This provides greater flexibility to support placemaking by recognising local events, activities, and community achievements as they happen, helping to create a more active, welcoming, and better used public space after dark.
