Solution
The existing high-energy lights were replaced with low-energy LEDs, as part of the council’s initiative to make all street lighting energy-efficient by the end of 2021. Compared to conventional bulbs, LEDs have demonstrated energy savings of up to 50-70%.
The new LED lighting was designed to illuminate the underpass in an array of vibrant colours, creating a safer and more engaging atmosphere for the local community.
Experience
The upgraded lighting scheme creates a more welcoming underpass for pedestrians, improving visibility and enhancing the sense of safety and comfort for those passing through both day or night.
