Zig-Zag Catenary feature for oasis dining quarter, Meadowhall

Studiotech contributed to the design, supply, and installation of a bespoke lighting solution that transformed the venue.

From curved recessed soffit lighting to column mounted floodlights, suspended and recessed downlights, linear lighting between timber slats, and emergency lighting, Studiotech took responsibility for a range of elements including the striking catenary lighting suspended above the dining area.

Solution

Studiotech assisted with the detail design, supply and installation of the bespoke catenary feature lighting and additional lighting upgrades.

The suspended catenary lighting, which gracefully floats above the dining area, adds both functionality and a striking visual element. Studiotech was responsible for the full scope of the lighting scheme, including the control system, ensuring a seamless and dynamic lighting environment.

The Harris Partnership was delighted to work alongside Studiotech again in implementing a large scale scheme across the Oasis food court in Meadowhall.

Whilst we faced many technical and logistical challenges, as often comes with large scale schemes at height, we effectively worked together to provide a solution and create the vision..

Studiotech were crucial in delivering the design and we hope to work together soon in the future.

Experience

The zig-zag catenary lighting introduces a distinctive character to the space, creating a warm and vibrant atmosphere that enhances the overall experience for both shoppers and diners. Suspended above the dining area, it adds visual interest and a sense of movement, helping to define the space while making it feel more inviting and considered.
