Not your average fitness sTUDIO… this one’s notched things up a gear!
As part of the transformation of Hale Country Club’s spin studio, Studiotech developed and delivered an immersive lighting and control solution designed around the energy of the rider experience.
Working alongside Amspec and Imperial Engineering, we transformed the creative concept developed by Zynk Design into a fully coordinated and programmable lighting installation. The control system was designed to integrate with the studio’s AV system, enabling the lighting to synchronise with music and on-screen content during each session.

ENGINEERING DESIGN
A series of individually controllable LED dots were integrated across the ceiling to create a dynamic focal point above the studio. Studiotech developed the technical layout for the installation, carefully coordinating with the ceiling construction and wider interior scheme. We also designed and fabricated the bespoke frame used to house the lighting, allowing the system to be integrated discreetly into the space.
Detailed drawings were produced to establish the required pitch and layout, ensuring the pattern remained consistent throughout the studio. Close coordination with the wider project team was essential to integrate the lighting, cabling and control equipment without compromising the premium finish.

The lighting system was programmed with a selection of dynamic scenes designed to complement the pace and atmosphere of different classes.
Colour and movement can be adapted throughout a session using a selection of pre-programmed scenes. The instructor can move between scenes using a simple iPad interface, selecting lighting that complements the on-screen content and each stage of the ride, from warm-up through to cool-down. The lighting also synchronises with the music, bringing another layer of energy to the experience.

The completed installation transforms the studio into an immersive, high-energy environment that encourages riders to switch off from their surroundings and become fully immersed in the session.
The illuminated ceiling creates movement overhead, while the changing scenes help instructors shape the atmosphere and take riders through every climb, sprint and recovery. It’s a brilliant example of how considered lighting and intelligent control can completely change the experience of a space.
