Project Details:
Among other areas, the refresh of Festival Park included suspended dynamic lighting feature spirals. Colman Architects had a particular concept in mind. The brief was to create illuminated spiral style pendants hanging vertically in the rotunda and horizontally in the atrium of the centre.
The spirals are fabricated from a perforated aluminium sheet with a polyester powder coat finish. Around the perimeter of each of the spirals is a colour changing RGBW LED flexible strip to wash colour across the face surface. Each spiral is individually controlled to allow dynamic lighting effects.
Having worked with Studiotech on a large project in Wolverhampton , it was very easy to realise that they were the company we wanted to engage on our venture at Festival Park. The initial concept was developed through working collaboratively in the design stages to the manufacture and installation. We are both pleased and proud of the resultant lighting features which add an extra dimension to the completed public space. We look forward to work with Tim and his colleagues again when the opportunity arises.
