Studiotech are pleased to announce that we have been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health & safety in the workplace. Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health & safety management amongst contractors.
The company's application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.
Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said: "Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place."
"More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Studiotech has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within this sector. SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”
Exciting news! Yesterday was the official opening of 'The Village' at Land Sec's White Rose Shopping Centre. Studiotech were responsible for detail design, supply, installation and programming of the external feature lighting which included both the catenary and the under canopy lighting. This is the first section of the public realm scheme which Studiotech have responsibility for the lighting throughout.
Over the past few months, the Studiotech team haven't had much chance to rest! A handful of the projects responsible for keeping our team so busy all have one thing in common; Bowmer & Kirkland acting as main contractor.
We have recently completed lighting solutions at three different Bowmer & Kirkland sites, each with their own unique and very different lighting requirements.
Back in October '16 our team completed the feature lighting within the reception at Media City's new office building 'Tomorrow'. Working closely with the design team involved, we provided the supply, installation and initial programming of the 'Tomorrow' feature signage, we also provided the supply and installation of the feature strip lighting to highlight the pivoting room dividers, also a main focal point within the reception area.
This project was shortly followed by 'The Light' in Leeds, again being led by Bowmer & Kirkland. Studiotech took on the bespoke feature lighting, signage and re-branding throughout the refurbishment of this busy leisure led centre. Working closely with the whole design and development team we ensured our lighting solution was delivered to a high but affordable quality.
Finally, we recently completed on site at The Mander Centre in Wolverhampton. Studiotech designed and installed the bespoke oval pendant lighting during it's two phased refurbishment, nicely completing our hat-trick of Bowmer & Kirkland projects.
All three projects were a great success and we are proud to add them to the Studiotech portfolio.

Studiotech UK was brought in by lighting designer Hoare Lea to assist with the detailed design and delivery of the feature lighting, signage and re-branding throughout the refurbishment of The Light, a busy leisure and retail destination at the heart of Leeds city centre, owned by Legal & General.
We assisted with the detail design, supply, installation, programming and control of the lighting to various areas throughout the centre. This included new signage; both interior and exterior, lighting to the roof beams and lastly, feature ring lighting.
The completion of the refurbishment was celebrated by a fantastic launch evening "Lighting up The Light".
